Vale

Arthur Envers

Arthur has passed in the tragic bushfire around Kinglake on Saturday 7th February. Arthur was a member of the Whittlesea and Kinglake venues of MTC. Having just passed his Red Belt, Arthur was helping Paul Lucas at both venues and was a very supportive member, always encouraging others, especially the junior members.

Our sympathy goes out this wife and all of the members of the Kinglake and Whittlesea venues.

MTC hopes that you all support the Red Cross in its drive to provide financial support to everyone involved in the bushfires. You can help online at www.redcross.org.au or by telephone 1800 811 700.

If you are unable to make a financial donation at this time, but are over 16 years of age and in good health, you may be able to register as a blood donor, as it is expected that blood will be needed over the coming weeks to help burns victims.

MTC will be providing direct support to the Kinglake venue, but any help you can give will be appreciated.

Monday 26th January 2009

Over 40 different nations are participating, 10 confirmed National Teams and at least five 2008 Beijing Olympians from Nepal, Greece, Canada, Sweden and the Dominican Republic.  The organisers have announced that all 14-17 year olds and Seniors will be fighting using the new electronic shields.

MTC have the following players going:

Callum Twaddell Matthew Oka Max Moloughney
Sean Faulkenstein Marcus Memmolo Justin Koob

Alex Phillipos

Aralya Sali David Stern
Ibrahim Naser Jordan Coyle Tim Evans
Natasha Fantone Patrick Rogowski Jack Marton

They are supported by Alf Dell’Orso (Head of Team), Andrew Rozinszky (Official Coach), Anne-Maree Dell’Orso (Junior Coach) and Gordon Twaddell (Team Manager)

These athletes are training hard and setting personal goals. Some of them are in divisions of 64 plus competitors, possibly facing as many as 7 fights on the day. They leave on the 10th of February and if you see them at training please wish them all the best.
