Welcome to Melbourne Taekwondo Centre

Melbourne Taekwondo Centre has been proudly teaching Taekwondo to students of all ages since its humble beginnings back in 1963. We have always been at the forefront of Taekwondo development in Australia and internationally, as we are the home to Australia’s only two World Sports Taekwondo Champions. Today, we operate 12 branches all across Victoria, and maintain our consistent goal of introducing new students to Taekwondo and supporting them to develop skills for life from beginner to Blackbelt.

Our Chief Instructor, Grand Master Jack Rozinszky 9th Dan, is recognised as the pioneer of Taekwondo in Australia and has been recognised by the “Taekwondo Hall of Fame”.

Taekwondo is a martial art that has a history that dates back over two thousand years and originated in Korea. With it’s origins in self-defence, it has developed over time to also become a globally recognised sport and has been included as a full Olympic Sport since Sydney 2000. As a club, we embrace all aspects of Taekwondo and provide programs that are suitable for all ages, skill levels and goals. Whether your interests is in learning effective self-defence skills, fitness, discipline, fun or just looking for a social connection, we definitely have a program for you!

Our Instructors

Our instructors are the heart and soul of our club and are all passionate and highly skilled in delivering an educational Taekwondo program. All our instructors have a long-term connection with Melbourne Taekwondo Centre and have moved up through the ranks from class participant to Instructor level and each have a range of experience and expertise, all having Internationally recognised qualifications. Our Head Instructors list reads like a ‘who’s who’ of Taekwondo in Australia, including National Team Athletes, Coaches and World Championship medallists.

We can’t wait to welcome you to Melbourne Taekwondo Centre!

OUR HISTORY

Established in 1963, Melbourne Taekwondo Centre is recognised as one of the largest and most successful Taekwondo centres’ in Australia. This is due to the hard work and dedication of our chief instructor Grand Master Jack Rozinszky 9th dan black belt and his consistent participation with all the instructors and students at all MTC branches.

Grand Master Rozinszky’s vision is shared by a dedicated group of instructors who continually strive to mentor our students to support them to achieve their goals and dreams. Our training system is designed to promote self-discipline and confidence while also improving co-ordination and motor skills.

Melbourne Taekwondo Centre students have gone on to represented Australia in the 2000 Sydney Olympics, 2008 Beijing Olympics, 2012 London Olympics and 2016 Rio Olympic games. Melbourne Taekwondo Centre is diverse in its training and is the only club in Australia to be the proud home of 3 World Taekwondo champions in ALL 3 disciplines of Taekwondo being Able body, Para Taekwondo and Technical Taekwondo.
